The Saguaro Cactus Sensation

Transplanted Spiny Whales of
the Solid Ocean.
Before my eyes, live the giant trunk of a motionless Saguaro Cactus. Its size alone seemed to tower over the sunlight as it shielded me with its shadow. From the corner of my eyes, other giant cacti appeared to stare down to me. Because of their immense structure I thought I felt these Saguaros as having a living presence. Odd, they were like real people, quietly standing next to me. Their presence evoked a sensation which I call, 'The Saguaro Cactus Sensation'. I wonder if this evocative sensation had contributed to the old belief that giant cacti are living souls? Saguaro Cactus Link

In 'The Saguaro Cactus Sensation' an interesting occurrence is perceived. I viewed desert-life as orbiting around the Giant Saguaros and this was fun. Even the many bird-holes in the Saguaro's trunk sparked my interest.

Carnegiea Gigantea
Most living outside of the desert do not know the Saguaro Cacti skin is made of 90% pure water. Nor that in 65 to 75 years it will grow its first saguaro-cactus-arm. But 30 years prior to its new arm, the spiny, green whale of the solid ocean would've sprouted its first Saguaro Blossom.

However, what is rarely known is that desert birds peck holes to gain an access into the Saguaro's trunk. Once inside they continue to peck for water and lay their eggs. Snakes, bats and other desert critters also take vacancy inside the giant cactus. In essence making a hotel out of the Slow-Growing Blessing of the desert.

Rarer still is the Giant Saguaro's indigenous constraints. Natively, it can only grow northwestward in Arizona and populates itself through the most southern part of Sonora, Mexico. Nowhere else can one find a Saguaro Cactus growing indigenously except a sparse few in the southern California border near Arizona, which, in desert terms is still supereminent.

Saguaro Sprouts
Obtainment of the, "Saguaro Cactus Sensation" or rather a couple of years ago I obtained this new perception which has lead me to the sudden discovery of knowledge in a Saguaro's environment. I wondered then, could I somehow harness the right elements and then channel their power into mimicking an ideal environment on my window sill, in an effort to grow a Giant Saguaro Cactus from a seed?

Today, July 23, 2012, I find myself giving-thought to the Saguaro seedlings I have grown. Their awesome potential is ever in front of them. Its feasibility to live 200 plus years. Its probability to stand 30 feet high and its possibility to grow five Saguaro-arms to one day store pure water for itself. Follow me through the desert and catch a glimpse of a 2 inch Saguaro.
